The Jianguo Bank prototype for the founding of Chongqing Jianguo Bank, the site is located in the area of National Road No. 2 Yuzhong, is in Chongqing during the Anti Japanese war started commercial banks because of its historical and cultural connotation in the old building sequence town of two rivers, according to the proportion of 1:1 in June 2016 after the completion of.

Jianguo Bank was founded by Liu Qintang since 1941. At the early stage, it was only a single-storey house made of bamboo and mud just like any other buildings around. A store was being renovated on 4 Minzu Road in April, 1944 and the digging went beneath the foundation of Jianguo Bank’s foundation on 2 Minzu Road by accident, which led to a cavity beneath Jianguo Bank’s house. As a result, there might be the possibility that the house may collapse. Therefore, the reconstruction of Jianguo Bank was determined.

During the reconstruction, it was found that a slope adjacent to the Water Alley on the left hand side of Jianguo Bank was too narrow and the Water Alley was busy with commuting people and vehicles. For the sake of traffic convenience and beautification, Jianguo Bank was designed to be a round-shaped building. Since the foundation of new China, Jianguo Bank operated in the building no longer. By the end of 1970s, there were a handful of financial institutions operating in this building. Early 1980s, Chongqing Securities Company (the predecessor of Southwest Securities) was the last company which operated here. Due to urban redevelopment, the building was dismantled soon.
