Jincheng Bank was incorporated by Zhou Zuomin, a banker of the Republic of China since 1917. It was one of the most important privately-funded banks in northern China. Implying an impregnable city, Jincheng Bank was based in Tianjin in the early stage, followed by branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Hankou and other cities. In the year of 1936, it set officially up an office on 229 Shaanxi Road, Chongqing, with Zhang Youxian being appointed as the director and being affiliated to the Hankou Branch. The office involved common business activities of a bank, driving the development of industry and commerce in southwestern China by leaps and bounds.
