Hangong Hotpot was extremely popular during the period of the Republic of China. Especially, its cattle stomach made a household name. The rumor goes that when night fall, people go to eat cattle stomach at Hangong Hotpot restaurant and go home, drunk and supported by the others. It made a dramatic turn and disappeared all of sudden during the 1940s and 1950s.
